About Us

Edirne Vocational School started its education activities during the 1976-77 academic year under the Ministry of Education, with 256 students in two departments: Life Sciences and Social Sciences. At the end of the 1978-79 academic year, due to the closure of vocational schools, the students were transferred to other institutions.

In the 1980-81 academic year, with the reopening of vocational schools, Edirne Vocational School resumed education with 4 programs — Mining, Electricity, Business Administration, and Accounting — and 90 students. In the 1981-1982 academic year, it was affiliated with Trakya University by the Decree Law No. 41.

Evening education started in the 1993-94 academic year. The school continued education under the name Edirne Vocational School until April 13, 2006. With a decision made by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on that date, it was decided that the school would continue its educational activities under the name Edirne Social Sciences Vocational School.

Today, Edirne Social Sciences Vocational School provides associate degree education, serving approximately 3,487 students with 9 daytime programs, 5 evening education programs, 23 academic staff members, and 13 administrative staff members.
